Anthony Horowitz biography

Anthony Horowitz is a hugely successful and prolific British author and screenwriter, celebrated for his versatile contributions across children's, young adult, and adult fiction, as well as television.

Born in 1955, he began his writing career with children's books, most notably the highly popular Alex Rider spy series, which has sold millions globally. For young adults, he penned The Power of Five (also known as The Gatekeepers).

Horowitz is also a master of the detective genre, having been commissioned by the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to write authorized Sherlock Holmes novels, including The House of Silk. His own bestselling adult mystery series features detective Daniel Hawthorne, beginning with The Word Is Murder. He is particularly praised for his clever, meta-fictional approach in novels like The Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders.
